と: Together With / And
Use と to mark a companion and connect an exhaustive pair/list of nouns.
- Basic action sentences.
Work is collaborative. と lets you say who you meet or work with and link concrete nouns cleanly.
1. と marks who you act with
When と follows a person/group in an action sentence, it often means with.
Natural: I speak with Tanaka.
Structure: Tanaka — with — speak.
Companion.
Natural: I work with the team.
Structure: team — with — work.
Collaborative action.
Natural: I have a meeting with the customer.
Structure: customer — with — meeting — object — do.
Professional meeting.
2. と also connects nouns as A and B
For a complete pair/list, AとB means A and B.
Natural: code and documentation
Structure: code — and — document
Two listed nouns.
Natural: development and testing
Structure: development — and — test
Work phases.
3. Quotation と comes later
Later tracks use と for quoted thoughts/speech. For now keep two roles: companion and noun connector.
