A mastery path for complete beginners and technology professionals.
HOW THIS COURSE WORKS
Follow the path. Advance by mastery.
The primary path tells you what to do next. You can still open any available lesson, but completion is based on checkpoints rather than calendar days.

Professional Register: Clear, Polite, Useful Japanese
Choose an appropriate beginner professional register without pretending to teach full business keigo.
- Tracks 0–9.
A beginner can already communicate professionally by being clear, polite, cautious, and consistent with forms already learned.
1. Professional does not mean 'use advanced keigo everywhere'
This capstone deliberately stays inside the course's grammar. Use です/ます, polite requests, calibrated uncertainty, reasons, and clear structure. Advanced honorific/humble Japanese belongs to later study.
2. Five habits make elementary Japanese more professional
Study the examples by function and structure.
Natural: May I check?
Structure: check-て — even if — good?
Ask permission instead of assuming.
Natural: It might be a network issue.
Structure: network problem — maybe
Separate hypothesis from fact.
Natural: The thing is, I don't understand / know.
Structure: not-understand — explanatory
Explain the situation rather than only saying no.
3. Register rewrite lab
Rewrite 12 blunt or fragmentary messages into clear course-level polite Japanese.
INTERACTIVE WORKSHEET
3. Register rewrite lab
For each prompt write ORIGINAL INTENT → POLITE COURSE-LEVEL VERSION → why the new version is clearer. Do not invent advanced keigo.
Tip: on a foldable or tablet, use your pen directly on the page. Your strokes are saved in this browser as you work.
3. Register rewrite lab

4. Compare without overreaching
Use the linked Manabi Kōbō tools to transfer the lesson into active production.
Language IDE
Why here: Register choices are easier to inspect when the grammar remains controlled.
How to use it for this lesson: Rewrite five casual/plain messages into です/ます plus permission/request/explanation patterns.
