~ながら: While Doing

Use verb stem + ながら to express two actions performed by the same subject at the same time.

Describe realistic multitasking: listen while coding, take notes while attending a meeting, study while commuting.

1. The first action is background; the final verb is main

Verb stem + ながら precedes the main verb. Both actions normally share the same subject.
