Verb Stem + に行く: Go in Order to Do
Use verb stem + に + movement verb to express going/coming/returning somewhere for the purpose of an action.
- ます stems, に/へ destinations, and movement verbs.
This creates practical purpose statements: go to the meeting room to talk, office to get documents, or Japan to study.
1. A movement sentence can carry two goals
The destination uses に/へ; the purpose action uses verb stem + に before 行く/来る/帰る.

3. The purpose verb uses the ます stem, not ます itself
話します→話しに, 買います→買いに, 勉強します→勉強しに.
